Nick Singleton – Penn State’s true freshman running back phenom – had one heck of a start to his college football career.
The true freshman exploded down the field for 70 yards, dodging Ohio defenders to break away for an untouched 40-yard finish run to the end zone. The run gave the Lions an early 14-0 lead against Ohio.
Singleton, a Pennsylvania native, was making up for a quiet Week 1 performance, where he had just 31 yards on 10 carries in his first game against Purdue.
Singleton was a 5-star prospect in high school and was the No. 31 player in the nation and the No. 1 running back and No. 1 player in Pennsylvania.
Entering halftime, Singleton is up to 81 yards and a touchdown on 4 carries. The RB was certainly putting on a show, and fans on social media were here for it.

The last time Penn State had a RB rush for more than 70 yards in a carry? Journey Brown's 85-yard rush vs. Pittsburgh on Sept. 14, 2019. That was 33 games ago.
Nick Singleton's been a long time coming.
