Scott Frost has been fired by Nebraska. The wait is finally over.
The news comes after 5 years of misery for the Cornhusker faithful, perhaps accelerated by the Huskers’ 45-42 loss to Georgia Southern Saturday night.
Athletic Director Trev Albert released this statement Sunday morning:

This is glorious news for any Nebraska fan in your life. Nebraska is obviously not messing around – the university could have waited until Oct. 1 to save upwards of $7.5 million in buyout money, but instead decided to pull the plug now just 3 games into the season.
The Huskers are 0-3 on the season with losses to Northwestern and Georgia Southern most recently. He finishes with a 16-31 record as head coach for the Huskers.
Nebraska has named Mickey Joseph as interim head coach.
