For Nebraska’s head coaching vacancy, 247 Sports analyst Josh Pate listed several candidates who can replace Scott Frost in Nebraska.

With Frost’s departure, Nebraska will have an important decision to make at the end of the season. Nebraska named Mickey Joseph as the interim head coach for the immediate future. While it is unclear what Nebraska will do, Pate listed a few names that Nebraska should look into.

Pate listed Kansas head coach Lance Leipold, Marshall head coach Charles Huff, and Kansas State’s Chris Klieman as potential candidates for the job. Pate recognized the urge to pursue bigger names, but he felt comfortable with naming the three coaches as potential fits in Nebraska.

“These are the places you need to look,” said Pate. “I’d look all throughout the Sun Belt! Who didn’t have a big upset in the Sun Belt (in Week 2)?”

It is natural for several names to be thrown around and Pate cautioned Nebraska to find someone who has what it takes to fix the program:

“Don’t go find the biggest, flashiest name. Go find the guy who’s right for the job, and go find a guy that knows how to build it and has shown he can build it. Don’t get fooled by someone in the interview process sitting there saying he can do it.”

Nebraska heads into the Week 3 matchup against Oklahoma with a 1-2 record.
