JJ McCarthy was impressive in his Michigan Wolverines starting debut.

He completed 11 of his 12 passes on the day for 229 yards and 3 touchdowns against the Rainbow Warriors of Hawai’i.

Former Michigan tight end Jake Butt was impressed with what he saw from McCarthy. He noted his accuracy on The Number 1 College Football Show hosted by RJ Young.

Head coach Jim Harbaugh named McCarthy the starter following his strong play against the Rainbow Warriors after deciding to start he and Cade McNamara in back to back weeks to further evaluate the position.

The Wolverines look to stay undefeated next week versus UConn.
