Nebraska football has been struggling in close games and losing 10-straight to end former head coach Scott Frost’s tenure.

Fox Sports broadcaster Tim Brando added his two cents on Twitter regarding the Nebraska coaching search.

Saying in part, “Forget this Urban Meyer nonsense. The notion that ya gotta get a big name is a joke. Urban’s not taking that job. Sorry.”

This was tweeted as a response to Barrett Sallee’s tweet on Nebraska’s coaching situation.

Incorporating a familiar tone to the former president, JFK’s infamous line “ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country.”

Brando emphasized Sallee’s reasoning and added Urban Meyer will not be taking the Nebraska job, despite his big name.

Meyer has been in the news eye for a number of incidents and controversy, following him every place he goes. More recently coaching at the Jacksonville Jaguars finishing his short-stint as an NFL head coach with a 2-11 record.

The Nebraska head coach, as mentioned by Brando, should go to a qualified individual that is not Meyer and should not have anything to do with their name.

We will find out who will take the famed spot for the Cornhuskers, as interim coach Mickey Joseph takes over the reins until then.
