It can be a harrowing experience for some football programs to face powerhouses like Alabama, Georgia, and Ohio State.
It can be a challenge to find chinks in the armor of these teams, and DCs certainly earn their pay when it comes to creating defensive schemes to capitalize on a stellar offense.
Vince Kehres, Toledo DC, knows all too well this situation. His Rockets will face in-state rival Ohio State on Saturday, a school that is almost 3 times the size.
When asked about facing the Buckeyes, Kehres admits that the thought causes anxiety and an upset stomach.
Toledo DC Vince Kehres on watching film of the Ohio State offense: “I start getting agitated and my stomach starts to hurt a little bit. I get uneasy. There really are no weaknesses.”

Despite being less than 3 hours apart, the Buckeyes and Rockets have only faced each other 3 times. Ohio State captured the win in all 3 contests.
We’ll see if the late nights and upset stomachs can help Toledo concoct a winning game plan against such a formidable opponent.
