One of the reasons that makes college sports so great are the atmospheres and the fans who pack their cathedral each Saturday to watch their team play for 7 or so Saturdays every fall… except if you are a UCLA fan.
Former star quarterback Troy Aikman was disgusted with the lack of fans at Saturday’s game:
This is an embarrassment but we couldn’t fill the Rose Bowl in 1988 when we were the #1 team in the country. Anyone else at UCLA think it’s time for an on-campus 30,000 seat stadium? Of course, if we can’t play better than we did today, it would be half-empty too. pic.twitter.com/jteVU8XV76

There have been plenty of pictures that have come out the last 3 weeks about the Rose Bowl sitting empty as the Bruins are playing on the field. Granted, UCLA’s first 3 opponents were Bowling Green, Alabama State and South Alabama. They barely escaped the Jaguars yesterday with a game-winning field goal making the final score 32-31.
UCLA is 3-0 on the year and has some good home games coming up on the docket with Washington, No. 14 Utah and No. 7 USC all coming to the Rose Bowl. UCLA’s next home game is Friday, September 30, against Washington will see if more fans show up for conference action.
