Former Michigan quarterback Tom Brady has assumed responsibility following Sunday’s altercation at the Superdome.

On Sunday afternoon, the Bucs’ and Saints faced off with Bucs’ veteran QB1 Brady feeling responsible for his teammate, Mike Evans’ one-game suspension.

Brady conveyed that he doesn’t believe Evans should have been given a suspension and recognized his help during that pivotal moment in the fourth quarter.

Saying in part that Evans was looking out for him and helping him through a non-composed Brady exchanging words with Saints cornerback Marshon Lattimore over an incomplete pass (Via the Tampa Bay Times).

“…Mike knows how I feel about him. So in the end, emotions are a part of sports. Sometimes they boil over, and they obviously did (Sunday), and it’s an unfortunate circumstance,” Brady said on his podcast, “Let’s Go”. “I don’t think it deserved any type of suspension; I think that’s ridiculous. Hopefully we can move past it and get to a better place.”

“Obviously if I didn’t run down there to argue with the call … if things weren’t said back and forth between both teams, it could’ve been avoided,” Brady said.

“…There’s a lot of things that go into it and there’s a lot of things at fault, so I don’t think Mike should be the one to be blamed and singled out. Unfortunately he has been, and that’s just the reality of life in the NFL.”

Brady recognizes that he could have dealt with that interaction a bit better if he didn’t let his emotions take over. He’ll try to keep things more under control moving forward.
