One big plate from the secondary could be the difference between a win in a loss in the B1G. On Saturday, 2 secondaries shined en route to victories.

Now, they’re being praised by Pro Football Focus.

Both Michigan and Iowa garnered top grades from Pro Football Focus following outings against UConn and Nevada, respectively. The Wolverines picked up a 59-0 over UConn while the Hawkeyes grabbed a 27-0 win over Nevada.

The Wolverines’ secondary limited the Huskies’ offense to 24 total passing yards in Ann Arbor. Quarterback Zion Turner went 4-of-16 passing for 17 yards while fellow QB Cade Mullen went 1-of-4 for 7 yards.

In Kinnick Stadium, things fared slightly better for the Wolf Pack’s passing attack. Nevada quarterback Shane Illingworth went 14-of-28 passing for 82 yards and averaged 2.9 yards per throw. He also threw an interception in the first quarter to Hawkeyes safety Cooper DeJean.

The Wolverines graded out with the second-best coverage grade at 91.2. The Hawkeyes came in third with a grade of 91.0. Top-ranked Georgia graded out with the highest grade at 91.4 following its impressive 42-7 win over SEC East rival South Carolina.

The Wolverines will play host to Maryland on Saturday at noon E.T. The Hawkeyes will travel to face Rutgers at 7:00 p.m. E.T.
