Taulia Tagovailoa has been with Maryland football since 2019. One thing that has changed is how he prepares for games per Emily Giambalvo of the Washington Post.

Tagovailoa is constantly writing things down in his notebook about things he notices on film. One of the reasons why he takes his preparation so seriously is so that he doesn’t let the team down. Tagovailoa has even started to attend game plan meetings with head coach Mike Locksley and offensive coordinator Dan Enos.

“That weighs on you a little bit,” he said. “I think doing these meetings, doing all [the work to prepare], you feel better, and I feel like for me and Enos and Locks, we sleep better at night knowing that we did that.”

Enos said that Tagovailoa’s preparation is almost compulsive in a way. Enos likes this because it speaks to the level of preparation that he puts in each week.

“It’s almost on the verge of being compulsive, which is a positive,” offensive coordinator Dan Enos said. “He takes great pride in his preparation. He takes great pride in his ability, his detail. He’s a guy that never wants to be on the field and not have an answer.”

Tagovailoa is coming off of a 2021 season where he had 3,860 yards passing with 26 touchdowns. Through three games, he has 895 yards passing with 7 total touchdowns for the Terps.
