Ah, the circle drill.

It’s probably one of the few drills players and coaches look forward to at practice. Ohio State coaches pick two guys to go head-to-head, as they battle to win a drill based on strength and power.

The drill is typically reserved for offensive and defensive linemen, wide receivers and defensive backs and running backs and linebackers. But on Monday, the Buckeye coaching staff decided to mix things up.

Quarterback vs. punter.

Yeah, you read that correctly.

Ohio State freshman quarterback Tate Martell was pitted against sophomore punter Drue Chrisman for the circle drill. Surprisingly, the punter didn’t put up much of a fight:

I guess Martell can do a lot more than throw a spiral.

If Ohio State ever has a run-in with a mouthy punter from the other sideline, just send the freshman quarterback in. He’ll be able to take care of it.
