Jeff Brohm is dealing with an injury to his star quarterback, and Purdue is hoping to get Aidan O’Connell back quickly. Unfortunately, it’s currently unclear if O’Connell will be ready for the game against Minnesota.
On Monday, Brohm did not have much to say in regards to O’Connell’s status, simply saying “We will see later on this week.” Brohm did not indicate what the injury was but said the injury was first sustained in the first quarter against Syracuse.
Brohm on Aidan O’Connell: “We will see later on this week where that is at.”
Same update on Jalen Graham.

As for the plan if O’Connell is out, Brohm said Austin Burton – who started against FAU – would get the start once again. However, Michael Alaimo would figure into the playing time picture if Burton does start.
Brohm: If Austin Burton starts at Minnesota, Michael Alaimo would figure to play a similar amount as he did last week.

Burton started against FAU and completed 21-of-29 passes for 166 yards with 3 touchdowns and an interception. Alaimo was used sparingly but did complete a pass and had a carry for 7 yards.
We’ll see what the Boilermakers dial-up in Week 5, but hopefully O’Connell is back under center.
