Charlie Jones has been one of the best transfer portal additions for Purdue this season. His numbers against single coverage have been off the charts.

Jones came to Purdue from Iowa after appearing in 22 games for the Hawkeyes. Versus single coverage this season he has 15 receptions for 296 yards receiving and 7 catches of 15 yards or more.

Jones’ yards against single coverage make up nearly half of his total receiving yards (533) this season. The former Iowa WR also has 7 touchdowns for the Boilermakers so far.

According to PFF, those numbers lead all Power 5 receivers entering Week 5:

Purdue is 2-2 after four games this season. The B1G West is a tight race right now, and Purdue is going to need him to continue making plays on offense. The Boilermakers have yet to earn a win against a B1G opponent.

Jeff Brohm will get another chance to get a B1G win with Minnesota next up on the schedule.

Purdue and No. 21 Minnesota play Saturday at noon ET on ESPN2.
