A lot of quarterback evaluators are already high on Nebraska quarterback Tanner Lee.

Football legend Archie Manning said Lee put Jared Goff “to shame” during a Manning Passing Academy clinic. ESPN analyst George Whitfield said the Huskers gunslinger was “one of those guys you don’t have to spend any time on throwing mechanics.”

Now, another football guru is singing Lee’s praises.

Phil Savage, a former coach, executive and administrator in the NFL, and current radio voice for Alabama football, had nothing but positive things to say about the Tulane transfer.

That’s a pretty significant statement for a Nebraska quarterback. The Huskers haven’t had a QB taken in the NFL Draft since 1992. And the B1G hasn’t had a quarterback drafted in the first round since 1995.

Unfortunately, Nebraska has had some issues at wide receiver, losing four-star prospects Keyshawn Johnson, Jr. and Jaevon McQuitty for the year. It’ll be interesting to see how that affects Lee this season.

If you believe what people are saying though, Lee might be able to overcome the uncertainty at wide receiver.

He certainly seems to have the support of several associated with the next level.
