ESPN’s FPI predicts the outcome of Indiana at Nebraska

After previously playing out-of-conference opponents that have been to the College Football Playoff (Cincinnati, Oklahoma), it’s back to conference play for Indiana and Nebraska. The Hoosiers and Cornhuskers face off Saturday night at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln.
Saturday was long thought to be a potential farewell date for Scott Frost. Oct. 1 is when Frost’s bio cut in half. After a 1-2 start, however, Frost was fired in September and Mickey Joseph has taken over as the interim head coach.
Joseph is 0-1 as the head coach. The Huskers were blown out at home 49-14 on Sept. 17 by Oklahoma. Nebraska will look to get Joseph to .500 and 1-0 in Big Ten play.
The Huskers are 1-3 overall and 0-1 in B1G play, falling to Northwestern, Georgia Southern and Oklahoma. The Hoosiers, meanwhile, are 3-1 overall with a loss to Cincinnati and 1-0 in conference play with a win over Illinois in Week 1.
ESPN’s Football Power Index predicts the outcome of every game. Despite the difference in records, the FPI likes Nebraska on Saturday, giving the Huskers a 60.6% chance to win.
We’ll find out Saturday night if the FPI gets it right. The game is set for a 7:30 p.m. ET kickoff, airing on the Big Ten Network.
