Ohio State put up 52 points and 539 total yards of offense in the blowout victory over Wisconsin. The Buckeyes have looked good lately, scoring 174 total points over their last three games. That might be one reason why they have the best chance to go undefeated, according to ESPN’s Football Power Index.
The rating gives Ohio State a 32.1% chance to run the table. Those are the best odds in the country; ahead of Alabama (24.8%) and Georgia (23.6%).
Here is a look at the rest of the Buckeyes’ schedule:
- vs. Rutgers
- @ Michigan State
- vs. Iowa
- @ Penn State
- @ Northwestern
- vs. Indiana
- @ Maryland
- vs. Michigan
Ohio State should have little problem with Rutgers and Michigan State. Iowa has had trouble finding the endzone, which could give the Hawkeyes issues against the Ohio State offense.
The Buckeye’s next game against Penn State should be a big one. The Nittany Lions are 5-0 behind quarterback Sean Clifford’s 890 yards and 8 touchdowns to 1 interception. Running back Nicholas Singleton has also rushed for 376 yards on an impressive 9 yards per carry.
Even Maryland before the rivalry game against Michigan could spell an upset. The Terrapins looked fairly good in their touchdown defeat to the Wolverines.
Past history has shown Ohio State could slip against an unsuspecting team. Remember Purdue in 2018? For now, Ohio State looks strong. But in the world of college football, anything can happen.
