Jakailin “JK” Johnson got his first-ever start for Ohio State at cornerback in last Saturday’s game against Wisconsin. Johnson is in his second season with the Ohio State program.

Johnson spoke to Eleven Warriors’ Chase Brown about his opportunity.

“I knew the time was gonna come at a certain point, but I didn’t know when,” he said. “I had to be patient.” “I was ready to play.”

Ohio State went on to beat Wisconsin 52-21 on Saturday. The secondary did their part and held the Wisconsin offense to 104 yards passing.

In the four games that Johnson has played in, he has 8 total tackles so far. Three of those tackles came against the Badgers.

Johnson arrived at Ohio State as a 4-star prospect in the 2021 recruiting class, where he was also rated as the 3rd best cornerback and the top-rated prospect from the state of Missouri, according to the 247Sports Composite.
