Gavin Wimsatt is reportedly going to be out for the Ohio State game, while Noah Vedral is going to be a game-time decision. Sources told ESPN’s Pete Thamel the news.
This will clear the way for Evan Simon to start his third game in a row if Vedral is unable to play. Vedral has yet to play a game for Rutgers this season.
Both quarterbacks are dealing with undisclosed injuries at the moment. Simon had 300 yards passing with 1 touchdown and 2 interceptions against Iowa in Rutgers’ B1G opener. Rutgers lost to Iowa 27-10 after a pair of defensive touchdowns by Iowa.
Vedral appeared in the majority of Rutgers games last season. Vedral had 1,813 yards passing with 7 touchdowns and 7 interceptions.
It looks like it’ll either be Vedral or Simon suiting up for the Scarlet Knights against the Buckeyes. Rutgers fans will have to wait until at least 3:30 p.m. ET to figure out who it’ll be.
Source: Rutgers will be without QB Gavin Wimsatt for the game at Ohio State, as he’s not going to dress. Injured senior QB Noah Vedral, who has yet to play this year, is a gametime decision. If Evan Simon starts, it’d mark his third consecutive start for the Scarlet Knights.
