Jeff Hecklinski is out at San Diego State after the Aztecs fell yet again to Boise State. The Aztecs are 2-3 with wins over Idaho State and Toledo to show for it.
Head coach Brady Hoke, formerly of Michigan, made the call following the game, per the San Diego Union Tribune.
San Diego State posted just 113 yards against Boise State and has the No. 131 ranked passing offense and 126th ranked total offense in the country.
Running backs coach Jeff Horton is expected to take over duties as offensive coordinator. Hecklinski has been with the Aztecs since the 2020 season.
It’s a tough one, but sounds like the right decision for the Aztecs moving forward.
