Bret Bielema had one of the most interesting press conferences of the day, and it continued to get better as he gives the fan base more and more reasons to fall in love with the second year coach.

The Fighting Illini are 4-1 coming off a B1G win over Wisconsin, Bielema’s former team where he earned his fist head coaching job.

Earlier today, he said that this success is his standard for the program. Later, he made a sales pitch to fans who weren’t planning to be in attendance for the upcoming matchup with Rutgers in Week 6.

After taking over a program that hasn’t seen much success recently and historically, Bielema is looking for a change in culture for the program, which starts with the fans. Illini fans are known as some of the most unforgiving, but that also means they are one of the most passionate.

If Bielema can sell the program to its fans, that can go a long way.
