Tom Allen already said that Indiana’s game against Ohio State to kickoff the 2017 season was “the biggest home opener” in the history of the program.
As if taking on the top five Buckeyes and hosting College GameDay for the first time in school history wasn’t enough, ESPN is throwing even more hype on the B1G clash between the Hoosiers and Ohio State.
Sports Illustrated recently reported that ESPN will be bringing back its Megacast for the season-opener. It was last used for the College Football Playoff’s National Championship Game between Clemson and Alabama.
ESPN will air the main broadcast of the game, but six alternative presentations will also be available to the viewer, according to SI:
Along with the main broadcast airing on ESPN, there will be six alternative presentations: a Coaches Film Room on ESPNews featuring former coaches Mack Brown, Mark Helfrich and Gene Chizik, hosts Greg McElroy and Tom Luginbill and the ESPN debut of former LSU Coach Les Miles.
There will also be a homers’ broadcast on ESPNU, featuring Dan Dakich and Joe Tessitore and an All-22 broadcast where viewers cans see the field from above the end zone on ESPN 3.
A handful of other options will be available for the game, most of which will feature either graphics and statistics or unique angles.
ESPN’s coverage at Indiana will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Aug. 31.
If it wasn’t before, the Indiana-Ohio State really has turned into the biggest home opener in the history of Hoosiers football.
