Head coach Jeff Brohm announced the news after Tuesday’s practice.
Blough did go through an MRI scan on Monday and the results came back “clean.” Brohm also said that, as of right now, the junior quarterback is not in jeopardy of missing the season opener against Louisville.
Still, the injury is somewhat concerning for the team moving forward.
Blough started all 12 games for the Boilermakers last season and was the B1G’s leading passer, throwing for 3,352 yards and 25 touchdowns in a 3-9 campaign. He finished the year with a completion rate slightly over 57 percent and tossed 21 interceptions.
