Caitlin Clark is a key player for Iowa, and she’ll be a name to watch during the 2022-23 college basketball season.

College basketball season is not too far away. In fact, the first day of action is set for Nov. 7. That is 33 days from now, but who’s counting?

On the women’s side, the Iowa Hawkeyes have one of the best players in the country in Clark. The 6-foot guard was just named the B1G’s Preseason Player of the Year in a vote by coaches and media.

An Iowa native, Clark averaged 27 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists a season ago. Moreover, her scoring average and assist mark led the nation. She was the first woman to do so at the Division 1 level in the same season.

Clark helped the Hawkeyes go 24-8 overall (14-4 B1G) as a sophomore. Iowa was also B1G regular season co-champions and won the B1G Tournament title. Clark was named the B1G Player of the Year.

Really no surprise here at Clark receiving the nod. She will likely go down as one of the best players in conference history when it’s all said and done.
