Maryland was on the receiving end of some bad calls in the 31-29 home loss to Purdue, but Terrapins wide receiver Jacob Copeland isn’t making excuses. Copeland sent a message to the football program and fans on his Twitter page saying, “Don’t cry about it. Get better. Go terps!”

In the fourth quarter, Maryland had an extra point kick blocked by a Purdue defender that looked like he jumped offsides, but the defender wasn’t flagged by the ref. With less than a minute to go, the Terrapins scored a touchdown and were able to convert the two-point conversion, but the officials called Maryland for an illegal man downfield away from the play.

There were several opportunities for Maryland, accounting for 387 total yards (15 more yards than Purdue). The Terrapins couldn’t capitalize off the three turnovers by the Boilermakers as the drives ended in a turnover on downs, a punt, and a missed field goal in the second half.

Maryland (4-2) looks to redeem itself in Week 7 on the road as the Terrapins take on Indiana (3-3).
