Jim Leonhard debut: Fans react to Wisconsin’s win in first game with Leonhard as head coach

Jim Leonhard made a statement in his first game as Wisconsin’s interim head coach. His first win sparked a great reaction from Badgers’ fans on social media.

Wisconsin blew out Northwestern 42-7 at Ryan Field. The offense had 515 total yards of offense after the final whistle sounded.

Fans were not used to this under Paul Chryst. Chryst’s teams were known for good defense and running the ball down the opposing team’s throats.

Chimere Dike, Graham Mertz, and Braelon Allen led the way for the Wisconsin offense. Mertz was responsible for 5 touchdowns. Dike completed his first career hat trick of receiving touchdowns, and Allen had a solid 100+ yards rushing performance.

Wisconsin’s next game will be against Michigan State on Oct. 15. Can Leonhard’s team play even better in his second game?
