Eight players will be representing Penn State as captains for the upcoming season.
During the team’s spring practice, quarterback Trace McSolrey, linebacker Jason Cabinda and Nick Scott were voted to be captains for 2017. At the end of fall camp, the Nittany Lions voted on five more.

Marcus Allen, Grant Haley, DaeSean Hamilton, Tyler Davis and Saquon Barkley were all awarded the honor on Sunday. According to 247Sports, eight captains is the most in team history.
Penn State opens this season against Akron on Sept. 2.
