Joel Klatt is praising Ohio State for how the team is looking through Week 6. He did this on his podcast “The Joel Klatt Show.”

No one has come close to beating Ohio State since Notre Dame in the season opener. The Buckeyes escaped Columbus with a 21-10 victory that day.

The Buckeye defense has been a big reason why the team has had so much success. The most points that the defense has allowed is 21 when Ohio State played Wisconsin. Klatt thinks the Buckeyes can win a national title as long as the defense plays well.

“I will continue to say this about Ohio State,” said Klatt. “If they have a top-25 defense they can win the national championship. Not saying they will, just that they can. Outside of that, it’s just eh, I don’t see it.”

Ohio State is now ahead of Georgia in total defensive yards allowed with 253.5. A complete team is going to need to show up late in the season in order for the Buckeyes to return to the national title game.

“You’re telling me Ohio State right now is one spot ahead of Georgia in terms of total defense? That’s exactly what I’m telling you,” said Klatt. “It’s been a very easy schedule (for Ohio State). Part of the reason it’s been so easy is they’ve been dominant all over the place.”
