Comeback Player of the Year Award is an honor that is given to a college player that has recovered from a serious injury, illness, or any other circumstances. Here is the link to the award’s watch list.
There were plenty of season-ending injuries for key players from around the B1G. Ronnie Bell tore his ACL in Week 1 of last season for Michigan. Penn State’s P.J. Mustipher and Adisa Isaac also suffered long-term injuries in 2021.
The watch list had players from nearly every major conference in college football. The B1G had 15 players nominated for the award.
Northwestern, Minnesota, Maryland, and Penn State all had the most nominations by any team with two players each up for the award.
