C.J. Stroud is a dang good quarterback, in case you didn’t know. One might even call him “elite” in some conversations.

The Ohio State quarterback might be viewed by some as the leading candidate to take home the Heisman in 2022. While leading the Buckeyes to No. 1 in the polls, Stroud also leads the nation in several major quarterback categories.

Pro Football Focus has taken notice of Stoud’s skills and believes he too is one of the nation’s best. Currently, PFF has the redshirt sophomore rated No. 1 among quarterbacks on 3rd and 4th down with a grade of 96.2.

When taking a deeper dive into Stroud’s stats, PFF might be onto something. On 3rd down plays this season, Stroud has gone 25-of-33 passing (78.1%) for 471 yards and 9 touchdowns. On 4th down, he’s completing 100% of his throws (1-of-1) for 2 yards and a score.

This season, Ohio State currently leads the B1G in passing (315.7 yards per game), passing touchdowns (25), and passer rating (204.9). Stroud currently leads all FBS quarterbacks in passing touchdowns (24), passer rating (207.6), and yards per attempt (10.9).

The Buckeyes will return to Columbus next Saturday to take on Iowa.
