The biggest matchup of B1G play so far is coming up in Week 7 as No. 10 Penn State will travel to Michigan to take on the No. 5 Wolverines.

While Ohio State is still the team to beat, a win on Saturday for the Nittany Lions will go a long way toward playing for the B1G Championship and a potential College Football Playoff appearance.

ESPN CFB’s Sam Acho says that the key to the game is in the hands of the Penn State defense:

“It’s about stopping the run,” Acho said. “We all know Michigan’s offense runs through Blake Corum… but I turned the tape on Penn State’s defense and this defense wants to hunt. Dude named PJ Mustipher — get to know the name — No. 97 is a baller. He can play. Watch a dude named Chop Robinson, No. 44, he can play… If Penn State can slow down Michigan’s running game and force JJ McCarthy to throw the ball, it plays right into one of Penn State’s strengths which is their passing defense.”

The task, however, is a tall one.

Blake Corum is one of the best players in the country and has the highest odds of all running backs to take home the Heisman. He sits at 4th in the country in yards with 735 and 2nd in touchdowns with 11.

The Nittany Lions have had a stout rushing defense all year, but they haven’t faced a back quite like Corum. We will see if they are up to the test.
