Pat Freiermuth appears on Pittsburgh Steelers’ injury report, has status revealed for Week 6

Pat Freiermuth appeared on the Pittsburgh Steelers’ injury report ahead of Week 6.

The former Penn State tight end has a concussion and will not play on Sunday, the injury report revealed. Other players who are going to be out are Minkah Fitzpatrick, Cameron Sutton, Ahkello Witherspoon, and Levi Wallace.

Freiermuth is one of several Pittsburgh offensive players that won’t play on Sunday as the Steelers take on the Buccaneers at 1 p.m. ET.

Freiermuth played for Penn State from 2018 to 2020, where he amassed 1,185 yards and 16 touchdowns in his time with the Nittany Lions. He was Second-Team All-Big Ten in 2019 and First-Team All-Big Ten in 2020.

He was drafted in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft by the Steelers.

In his rookie year, Freiermuth recorded 497 yards and 7 touchdowns. He has put together a solid second season so far, recording 235 yards and 1 touchdown. He is likely to continue his production when he returns from injury.
