Paul Finebaum has just one wish for this college football season.

The famed SEC radio host wants Ohio State and Alabama to square off in the national championship game. Then again, who doesn’t? Finebaum explained his statement on SportsCenter Thursday.

“The game I want to see – and the game that would define college football this year – would be Alabama and Ohio State in the finals because of a couple things,” Finebaum said. “First of all, you have the two best coaches in the land. You have Saban with five and Urban with three. I’ve declared Saban the greatest coach of all time and everyone else has as well, but what if Urban Meyer beats Saban again? He beat him two years ago in the semifinals. That would make it five to four.

“Urban Meyer with a championship could at least stop Nick Saban from wearing that crown.”

Many believe that Ohio State and Alabama are the two locks for the College Football Playoff this season. Many also regard Saban and Meyer as the two best coaches in college football.

The two teams enter the year No. 1 and No. 2, with Alabama currently on top. Who knows, maybe Finebaum’s dream scenario will play out and the two best teams in college football will compete for a national title.
