All of the energy and excitement for Penn State’s 2017 season has turned into anxiety and nervousness for several Nittany Lions fans.

Just one week before the start of the season, some fans are still waiting to receive their season tickets in the mail. It’s been an issue that Penn State associate athletic director Tom McGrath is very upset about.

“We’ve had a very challenging week, but not anywhere near as challenging as the week our fans have had,” McGrath said on a radio show, according to StateCollege.com. “We have not delivered on a very reasonable expectation. There’s just no excuse for this. We are working on it. Trying to make the best of an unfortunate situation.”

Penn State had over 9,000 new season ticket holders for the upcoming season. While the reason behind the delay hasn’t been mentioned, it’s something that McGrath says can’t ever happen.

“Next year it will not be this way,” McGrath promised.

He did go on to say that the season ticket booklets are in the mail and everyone should receive their tickets prior to the season opening game, which comes on Sept. 2 against Akron.
