Jeff Brohm is very glad that Devin Mockobee chose to walk-on to Purdue. He has given life to the running game ever since he has started to get more snaps.
Brohm talked about how Mockobee got to Purdue as a recruit. Mockobee wanted to be at Purdue and competed in a way that stood out.
“Convinced him to walk on,” said Brohm. “He really wanted to be here, he’s a competitor. He figured he could be here and compete and do a good job in a very humble and modest way.”
Mockobee now leads the team in yards rushing with 453 and also has 5 touchdowns to go along with it. He has continued to prove to everyone just how special he can be, especially Brohm.
“He’s proven to everybody how good a running back can be, but he’s always had a little bit of something where you kind of raise your eyebrows and say this young man may have a chance.”
Mockobee will get another chance to show people how good he is against Wisconsin on Saturday.
