Mike Locksley and Maryland had a scary moment last Saturday with quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa. The quarterback left the field with an apparent leg injury but now Locksley announced Tagovailoa might be able to start in Week 8.
This is good news for the team. Although nothing is official, Locksley said that Tagovailoa had an MRI and “re-aggravated a previous injury,” and that he had been wearing a knee brace because of that injury. He is a “gametime decision” for this Saturday.
After seeing what happened to his big brother Tua over these past few weeks, the starting quarterback and his team have to be thrilled that his injury wasn’t as serious as it could have been. At some point, even if it’s not this weekend, it sounds like Taulia will be able to return.
Update from @CoachLocks:
Taulia Tagovailoa reaggravated a previous knee injury vs. Indiana.
He is a game time decision for Saturday’s game.

Tagovailoa is having a really good year for the Terps throwing for over 2000 yards and 13 touchdowns so far. His being out for a long period of time would really hurt this team who is fighting for a bowl bid.
