Can Ohio State cover the spread against Iowa? That was the question answered by 247Sports’ Chris Hummer and Brad Crawford.

Ohio State is a 29-point favorite against Iowa in Columbus. Hummer really wanted to take Iowa as the team that will cover, but the offense hasn’t shown him enough to make him do so. It will take a complete showing to beat the Buckeyes.

“I wish I could take Iowa to cover,” said Hummer. “I think they have one of the rare defenses that’s equipped to hang with Ohio State. Iowa’s offense is just terrible. The one thing you have to do when playing Ohio State is score. I like Ohio State to cover.”

Iowa’s offense has been pitiful this season, averaging 14.7 points per game which is the worst in the B1G.

Crawford has a hard time seeing how Iowa can keep up with Ohio State in this one. We’ll see how Ohio State plays against Iowa at “The Horseshoe” on Saturday.

“I don’t know how the Hawkeyes are going to produce enough points to cover in this game,” said Crawford. “The Hawkeyes have continued to struggle on that side of the ball. Ohio State’s defense has to be licking its chops right now knowing that they’ll be playing with a healthy lead throughout the game.”
