Josh Henderson is happy to be a dual threat for the Indiana offense.

The North Carolina transfer has impacted the game as both a wide receiver and a running back in 2022. Henderson has 211 rushing yards and 214 receiving yards before a Week 8 matchup with Rutgers. Henderson has scored 3 times as an RB and 3 times as a WR in 2022.

“I pride myself on being a versatile back,” Henderson told Pete DiPrimio of IUHoosiers.com of his usage in the offense. “That’s a good weapon for this offense to have. Whenever they call my number, make sure I’m ready.”

The 2022 season is Henderson’s 1st in Bloomington after 3 seasons in Chapel Hill — where was used almost exclusively as a running back — as opposed to now lining up both in the offensive backfield and out wide.

“I like it all. It’s all good for me,” he said when asked about his positional preference. “It’s a blessing to have this kind of role.”

Despite the Hoosiers’ 4-game losing streak, Henderson stressed that the team is ready for its next challenge against Rutgers on Saturday.

“We recognize the season is not over. We still have stuff to fight for,” he said. “This team has shown toughness and grit before. We’re relying on each other and the coaching staff to have that buy-in.”
