Penn State recovered after the Michigan loss with a blowout out win over Minnesota in Week 8. The Nittany Lions took care of business as Minnesota starting QB Tanner Morgan sat out the game with an injury. Penn State is now 6-1 after the 45-17 victory.
Sean Clifford has silenced the critics for now after throwing 4 TD passes and finishing the game with 295 yards passing. Nick Singleton found the endzone twice with a 79 yards rushing performance.
Ohio State avenged the 2017 loss to Iowa with a 54-10 win on Saturday. C.J. Stroud had another great game, with 286 yards passing and 4 touchdowns. Julian Fleming led the Buckeyes in yards receiving with 105 and 1 touchdown.
Ohio State has a slight lead in the series against Penn State. The Buckeyes have 22 wins to the Nittany Lions’ 14. Ohio State has won the last 5 meetings dating back to 2017.
The Football Power Index is leaning towards Ohio State in this matchup, giving the Buckeyes a 79.6% chance of winning. On the other hand, Penn State has a 20.4% chance to pull off the upset.
