Jack Campbell named finalist for prestigious 2022 William V. Campbell Trophy

Jack Campbell was named a finalist for the 2022 William V. Campbell Trophy.
This award recognizes football players with success in academics, football, and leadership. Campbell is the only B1G player on the list of finalists. With his success in the classroom and on the football field, Campbell is showing why he is an exemplary leader at Iowa.
The award is handled by the National Football Foundation and Archie Manning, who is the foundation’s chairman, discussed the importance of the award.
“We are extremely proud to announce the finalists for this year’s Campbell Trophy®,” said NFF Chairman Archie Manning, whose sons Peyton (Campbell Trophy® recipient) and Eli were NFF National Scholar-Athletes in 1997 and 2003, respectively. “These young men have an unrelenting commitment to excellence in all aspects of their lives, and they represent all that is right in college football. As strong leaders in the vein of the trophy’s namesake Bill Campbell, they all serve as living examples that the Future For Football is bright. We are excited to honor their hard work and outstanding leadership with postgraduate scholarships.”
Campbell, who is a senior linebacker, is having a solid season for the Hawkeyes. Campbell has recorded 71 total tackles, 1 fumble recovery, and 1 interception.
Iowa will host Northwestern on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET.
