Now that we are halfway through the college football season, we have a good idea of where each team ranks. Fox Sports analyst RJ Young gave his Week 9 tiers on Twitter Wednesday afternoon, giving his thoughts on where teams shape up at this point.
Young had Ohio State alone in the top tier. The Buckeyes boast an undefeated record and they have looked flawless on the way to those wins. They will get one of their first real tests on Saturday as they take on Penn State.
Georgia and Michigan were the two teams in the second tier. The Bulldogs have blown through their competition thus far and have shown no signs of weakness. They have a big game on the horizon, however, as Tennessee comes into town next Saturday.
Michigan has also looked unstoppable in its undefeated start and should have an easy one on Saturday as it takes on Michigan State.
Tennessee, Clemson, Alabama and TCU make up the third tier. Tennessee, Clemson and TCU are all undefeated, though Clemson has had several close calls to lesser opponents. Alabama’s only loss came to Tennessee.
In the final tier were Oklahoma State, Oregon, UCLA and USC. All four teams have one loss.
