One of the things that Ohio State has improved on this season is its defense because of first-year defensive coordinator Jim Knowles.
Fox Sports college football analyst Joel Klatt, broke down what makes Knowles a good coordinator and why the defense has improved under his watch on Thursday.
“Knowles had the most pressurized position in America,” Klatt said. Knowles left a quickly rising Oklahoma State program to join the Buckeyes this season.

Klatt says what makes them so good is two things: quick calls and he likes to disguise his defenses. That may lead to the quarterback holding on to the ball too long and can lead to confusion on the quarterback’s part.
