Blake Corum is trying to get Michigan’s offense rolling against Michigan State. He broke through in the second quarter for the first touchdown of the Wolverines.
The drive was a long, sustained possession of 80 yards that took just 7 plays and over 3 minutes of the clock. It was a balanced drive offensively, but the Wolverines ultimately went to Corum at the goal line.
This time, Michigan dialed up some pre-snap motion to get Corum a head of steam for the snap. After back-to-back carries in goal-to-go situations, the Wolverines went to Corum around the edge on a little push-pass from QB JJ McCarthy.
The play design worked with Corum able to sneak in for Michigan’s first touchdown and a 10-7 lead over the Spartans.

Already, Corum is up to 50 yards rushing and his touchdown on the short reception. He’s averaging 5 yards per carry in the first half, so look for a healthy dose of Corum throughout the game.
