Jim Harbaugh is happy to have the Paul Bunyan trophy back in Ann Arbor, saying his players were “locked in and focused” during the Week 9 rivalry with Michigan State. That proved to be the case with the Wolverines dominating on both sides of the ball.

The trophy has been in East Lansing since the 2020 season, with the Spartans winning the game in 2020 and 2021.

Harbaugh also praised his team for winning “in all phases of the game,” including after the whistle. “We knew there’d be stuff after the whistle. There usually is with them,” said Harbaugh.

Harbaugh was unhappy with some of the extracurriculars that took place during and after the game. In the game, the Spartans were penalized 7 times for 75 yards, compared to the Wolverines’ 4 flags for 25 yards.

Earlier in the week, Harbaugh warned his team about not committing penalties after the whistle, since this rivalry matchup has been heated in the past.

Michigan will travel to play Rutgers in Week 10.
