Tom Allen isn’t showing his cards. The Indiana head coach gave a bland answer when asked about the team’s quarterback situation on Monday.

Starter Connor Bazelak has completed 54.9% of his passes for 2,099 yards and 12 touchdowns to 9 interceptions in 2022. His turnover mark is tied for 110th in the country. Bazelak has tossed at least one pick in six of eight games.

Maybe most importantly Indiana has lost 5 straight games after a 3-0 start. The latest setback came in a 24-17 loss at Rutgers. To make matters worse, Indiana’s next two games are against Penn State and Ohio State.

So is this a time to make a change? The Hoosiers list Jack Tuttle as one of its backup quarterbacks. He appeared in six games a junior with starts against Michigan State and Ohio State. Overall, Tuttle went 45-of-87 for 423 yards and 2 touchdowns to 5 interceptions. He previously played at Utah.

Any move by Allen could be tough at this point.
