Kirk Ferentz is going up against Charlie Jones for the first time since he transferred from Iowa to Purdue. Ferentz talked about how things would have been different if Jones had stayed at the team’s weekly presser.

Jones played at Iowa from 2020-2021 and had 323 yards receiving with 3 touchdowns. In one season with Purdue, Jones has 840 yards receiving and 9 touchdowns.

Jones left Iowa following spring ball in May. Ferentz wasn’t sure what would have happened had Jones stayed.

“We’ll never know what would have happened if he was here,” said Ferentz. “We saw him make great improvement, I thought, in the spring. We were really excited about that. And then, he’s not here.”

At the end of the day Iowa is 4-4 and Purdue is 5-3. The two programs are not too far apart in record, but fans will get to see what team is better on the field come Saturday.

Iowa-Purdue is scheduled for a noon ET kickoff on FS1.
