Ohio State comes in at No. 2 in the initial College Football Playoff rankings for the 2022 season.

The Buckeyes, 8-0, are behind only the also-undefeated Tennessee Volunteers. Georgia and Clemson come in at 3 and 4 respectively.

The No. 2 ranking prompted a mixed reaction amongst CFB fans and media members, with some thinking the ranking was too high, while others thought the Buckeyes should be No. 1.

Luckily, most of the time these situations work themselves out. For example, Tennessee and Georgia play in Week 10, with the loser in all likelihood dropping out of the top 4. Michigan and Ohio State also end the season against each other, with the loser most likely being left out.

The Buckeyes head to Northwestern in Week 10 to take on the Wildcats.
