BTN analyst praises Illinois defense, says unit has ‘absolutely no chill’

The biggest surprise of the college football season may be the Fighting Illini of Illinois. The Illini leads the B1G West and are on the verge of wrapping up their half of the conference.
The reason why Illinois has been so good this season is their defense. The Illinois defense is ranked No. 1 in the country in total defense only giving up 224 yards per game and under four yards per play.
B1G analyst Anthony Herron says this about the Illini defense: “There’s absolutely no chill in the way that Illinois plays defense.”
“Everything comes together so well for the Illini,” said Herron. “When you watch them on film, everything is contested for the Illini. There is absolutely no chill for the way Illinois plays defense, and a lot of it is led by the back end.”

This Illinois team is going to be a problem for any team they face down the line, especially with that defense. They are a nightmare matchup for any team they face. They don’t need to have a high-flying offense with the type of defense that they have, it will keep them in every game that they play,
