Jim Leonhard was asked if recruits are looking into the Wisconsin football program with so much uncertainty right now. Jeff Potrykus of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel revealed what he said.
Leonhard is 2-1 since taking over for Paul Chryst after the loss to Illinois. Wisconsin is now 4-4 heading into Week 10 and still has a chance at making a bowl game.
Someone asked Leonhard if any recruits have been asking about the future of the program. He confirmed that some recruits have been asking about that, and noted how the coaches are asking for patience at this time.
If what Leonhard says is true, some solid recruits could be heading to Madison if they just wait things out.
#Badgers coaches hit the road during off week. Jim Leonhard was asked MON if recruits inquired about future of the program. Leonhard said yes and added the coaches asked for patience. I suspect if current UW fans are patient, they’ll be rewarded.

Wisconsin currently ranks 14th among B1G schools in the 2023 cycle, according to 247Sports. The Badgers have 13 3-star commits at the moment.
Surely making a bowl game in Leonhard’s first season as interim HC would go a long way for many recruits.
Leonhard will have a chance to earn Wisconsin’s fifth win of the year against Maryland at noon ET on BTN this Saturday.
