Jer’Zhan Newton is all by himself at the top of the list for Power 5 defenders when it comes to QB pressures.

So it’s not surprising to find that Newton is a member of one of the best defensive units in the country this year, Bret Bielema’s Illinois Illini. Netwon’s 41 quarterback pressures, an average of over 5 per game mind you, shouldn’t be too surprising to and Illini fan.

See how he shakes out with the rest of the competition.

Newton, a sophomore defensive lineman, has 18 tackles and 5 sacks on the season to go with his 41 quarterback pressures. He’s one of the best pass rushers in the B1G.

Illinois is back in action this Saturday against Michigan State, looking to improve to an impressive 8-1 on the year.
