Charlie Jones, former Iowa Hawkeye, has been outstanding at Purdue this year. Pro Football Focus graded him as the leading receiver in contested catches which they define as: plays where the defender is in range and contests the pass at the catch point.

Jones transferred this off-season after spring practice and has not looked back. He’s already recorded 9 touchdowns on 72 receptions for 840 yards receiving which more than doubles his output at Iowa the season before.

Jones has become a deadly weapon on the outside with his ability to turn and high point the ball. His innate ability to time his extension has drastically increased his chances of making it into the NFL.

Jones and starting quarterback Aidan O’Connell have made the Boilermakers into one best offenses in the Big Ten with an average of 32.75 points per game.

His former head coach, Kirk Ferentz, complimented Jones’ evolution and acknowledged his improvements.
